ABOUT PARKLANE LANDSCAPES · EST. 1958
68 years of genuinely loving this community.
Since 1958, Parklane has been designing, building, and caring for exceptional landscapes across Central Ontario and cottage country. What sets us apart is how that experience shows up in the work, on every property we touch.
OUR STORY
Caring for this land since 1958 and still growing.
Parklane Landscapes began in 1958 with a simple conviction: that people deserve outdoor spaces that are both beautiful and ecologically sound.
Founder Casey Van Maris, alongside his wife Monica, built that belief into a company rooted in the landscapes of Central Ontario. Their daughter, Anna van Maris, grew up in the family’s garden centre, reading blueprints by the age of eight. She carried that foundation forward and helped shape Parklane into the business it is today.
In 2022, Anna’s daughter, Cassie Zalewski, became third-generation owner, carrying Parklane into its 65th year.
She did not start in the office. She started in Garden Care, moved into construction, earned her D-Licence and crane operator certification, and spent years with the cab of a 7-ton as her office. She understands quality from the ground up.
That continuity of knowledge, standards, and genuine care for the land is what clients see and feel in every landscape we create and care for.
With Parklane Landscapes, sustainable is beautiful.
OUR EXPERTISE
Credentials that show up in the work.
Most landscaping companies can build something beautiful. Far fewer design with a deep understanding of native plant ecology, water management, shoreline protection, and long-term performance. That depth of knowledge is what Parklane brings to every project.
Our team includes a Master’s-trained landscape architect with an ecology certification and a therapeutic horticulture practice, certified horticulturalists with decades of hands-on experience in Ontario ecosystems, designers with backgrounds in environmental history and psychology, and tradespeople who have spent entire careers working in this region.
Sustainability is not an add-on here. It is built into how we read a site, select plants, manage drainage, protect waterways, and make decisions about materials.
After 68 years in this region, we see this not as a specialty approach, but simply how the work should be done.
What This Means for You
What you get when you
work with Parklane.
We do not measure success by how a project looks on install day. We measure it by how it performs years later.
Whether the landscape continues to function properly. Whether plantings establish and thrive. Whether the space becomes easier to live with, not harder.
That long view shapes every decision we make, from design through construction to long-term care.
Not a template applied to it. Every decision responds to what we observed on your property.
Selected for this region, these plants establish, adapt, and improve year after year.
Drainage and grading that protect your property and the environment around it.
The same team that designs your landscape understands it long after the work is done.
WORK WITH US
Let's talk about what's possible for your property.
Every landscape has its own water flow, light, and character. Our first conversation is about understanding yours, not selling you anything.
We discuss how you want to live in the space and how thoughtful design can bring it together; from patios and walkways to gardens, grading, drainage, lighting, shorelines and complete outdoor living environments.
Every element is considered as part of one cohesive design, built to function beautifully and last for years.
Our commitment: No pressure. No obligation. Just a thoughtful conversation about what makes sense for your property. We'll be in touch within 2 business days.
